Wheat Crop - Lok 1 (Step 4)

Weed Management

Weed Management

● One hand weeding or hand hoeing at four-week crop stage is sufficient to control multiple weed flora.
● In case of labour shortage, chemical weed control can be adopted and in recent past several herbicides were found effective even against the biotypes of Phalaris minor and wild oat.
● Pendimethalin’ @ 1.68 lit/acre in 200 liters of water can be applied as pre-emergence and it controls both grassy and non-grassy weeds.
● All other are post- emergence weedicides generally applied at 2-4 leaf stage of weeds in standing crop.
● If there are only grassy weeds, Clodinafop propargyl 15% + Metsulfuron methyl 1% WP @ 160 g/acre should be applied. In case of multiple weed flora Sulfosulfuron @ 13 g/acre or Sulfosulfuron 75% + Metsulfuran Methyl 5% WG @ 16g/acre may be applied.
