Khaira Disease

For management of Khaira disease:
• Khaira disease occurs due to zinc deficiency in paddy crop.
• Young leaves develop yellowish bronze discoloration and small brown spots.
• Plants remain stunted with poor tillering in severe cases.
Spray (per acre)
• Spray 0.5% Zinc sulphate heptahydrate solution
• Mix 1 kg zinc sulphate heptahydrate + 500 g unslaked lime in 200 litres water/acre(OR)
• Spray 0.3% Zinc sulphate monohydrate solution
• Mix 600 g zinc sulphate monohydrate + 300 g unslaked lime in 200 litres water/acre
• Apply spray immediately after appearance of deficiency symptoms.
• Repeat spray after 7–10 days if symptoms persist.
