Irrigation management- 1

Please irrigate your field:

  • • Keep standing water in field continuously for only 2 weeks after transplanting for proper seedling establishment.
    • Afterwards, irrigate field 2 days after ponded water disappears from soil surface.
    • Maintain water depth below 10 cm in the field.
    • Avoid formation of soil cracks to prevent moisture stress.
    • Drain excess water before weeding
  • Critical stage for irrigation:
  • Active tillering stage: 30–45 days after sowing/transplanting (DAS/DAT)
    Irrigation at this stage helps proper tiller formation and vegetative growth
