Paddy Crop
Harvesting Management
It's time to harvest the crop.
You are advised to:
-
• Harvest the crop when grains are nearly mature and straw turns yellow.
• Timely harvesting helps in maintaining better grain quality and higher milling recovery.
• Delay in harvesting increases grain shattering and grain losses.
• Harvesting should generally be done at about 20–22% grain moisture content.
• Combines are widely used for paddy harvesting in Punjab.
• Operate combine at proper speed to reduce grain losses and grain breakage.
• Prefer combines fitted with PAU Super Straw Management System (Super SMS).
• Super SMS helps in chopping and uniform spreading of paddy straw in the field.
