Nutrient Management

  • Fertilizer application should be done based on soil test.
  • Fertilizer recommendation for Bihar, Chhatisgarh, Jharkhand, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Haryana, Punjab, Uttara Khand :
  • Urea: ~108 kg/acre
  • DAP: ~43 kg/acre
  • MOP: ~33 kg/acre
  • Zinc (ZnSO4): ~ 16kg/acre
  • If pulse crop has been taken in summer season, green manuring or 4-5 tonnes of FYM has been applied then reduce the N dosage by 6 kg/acre from the recommended quantity.
  • Nitrogen should be applied in 3 split doses, 1\3 at end of last plough 1\3 at 45 DAS 1\3 at 65 DAS.
  • Entire dose of phosphorous should be applied at the end of last plough.
  • For loamy soils, entire dose of potash should be applied at the end of last plough, while for light soils, half dose should be applied at last plough and remianing half at panicle initiation stage.
